Don’t waste money on boring presents - get something exciting!

With Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day coming up, and our bank accounts still crying from Christmas (I don’t think it’s just me), I thought I’d give my top 5 suggestions for gifts that are easy to buy, not extortionate, and will feel original and special to the person who receives them.

Heart print or card

Ok don’t give up on me this early in the post for being too obvious but it would be ridiculous for me NOT to mention the heart print and card. They’re full of details, colourful, make you feel loved every time you look at them. Easy win (sometimes the most obvious gift is the right gift!). If you want to go above and beyond get a beautiful frame for the A4 print, with its standard size making frame selection easy to get right.

Original artwork

If you want to go for something really special then original artwork has that little something extra and doesn’t have to cost the earth. There are a few original wildlife animals left if your partner or mum love foxesdormice, squirrels or badgers, or the original ‘Chatsworth Dream’ or ‘Skeldergate York Bridge’ are gorgeous presents for someone that has special memories tied up in those stunning Derbyshire landmarks. Gift as an original presented with a protective board and clear display wrapping or get it mounted and framed.

Landmark prints

My most popular prints are those of the landmarks that people grew up near or got married at. Lots of people have chosen the following prints because they were special to loved ones so I can recommend them to you wholeheartedly.

Sheffield Botanical Gardens

The Arts Tower

The Peak District

The Oceans

Cards with Words

My latest collection is a really personal one, and its still growing. Cards With Words is a form of affirmation card but for those who don’t like to be told how they feel. Choose one, choose many, build your own set of reminders to keep yours or a loved one's brain feeling comfy. The messages will either be perfect or irrelevant to any one person, but if you see one that's just right you'll know straight away!

Gift vouchers plus a little something!

Whether you simply give a voucher inside a beautiful card, or add something alongside, I love them as a present option because they make sure that the person gets something they really want. No waste, no awkward ‘did I choose the right thing’. If you think they’d like to use the vouchers for a workshop or pre-recorded tutorial you could add a brush or paper alongside it (also available from this website), or they can choose artwork for a space they’ve been wanting to fill for ages!

I hope this is helpful and I'm happy to answer any questions you might have to help you choose just the right present, at any time of year.
Cheerio for now!
