The artist

Cat Regi is a mixed-media artist based in the Peak District, working under the name Badibidu.

The name, taken from her childhood word for caterpillars, was a way to share her work without using her real name — a first step in building confidence and putting her art into the world.

The art

Cat's work is shaped by a love of colour and nature, as well as time spent living in Devon, Italy, Yorkshire and South Wales.

She embraces antiperfection — finding beauty in the messy and unpredictable — both in her creative process and in how Badibidu began, without the pressure of being Instagram-perfect.

Each piece evolves naturally, guided by instinct and the interaction of pigments, water and paper. Cat is part of a neurodiverse family and reflects that experience in her art and online presence, where she shares openly about creativity, difference, and making space for your own way of existing.
