Butterflies with transparent wings tutorial (Pre-Recorded)
Butterflies with transparent wings tutorial (Pre-Recorded)
Suitable for total beginners or more experienced painters.
This tutorial will show you how to create very loose butterfly shapes and also break down how to create a detailed butterfly painting with the effect of transparent wings overlapping. I even give a little hack for how to sketch your butterflies at the beginning which some people find tricky. We even do this whilst not getting too tied up in creating 'perfect' and focussing on enjoying the process!
Learning to paint butterflies will give you a beautiful addition to any flower painting or make a beautiful standalone piece. A great mindfulness practice and way of unwinding on your own or with family/friends.
This is a *pre-recorded* virtual session, based on the popular watercolour zoom session which runs live every week with an absolutely lovely gang of attendees. These pre-recorded sessions are approximately 30 minutes long, but you can re-watch them and hopefully they will set you off full of inspiration for as long painting as you need.
PLEASE NOTE:
This recording is for personal use only. If you wish to use in a corporate or educational setting you will need a corporate license, please contact me directly at:

My paintings are created in layers of watercolour, gouache and ink. High-quality paints and 300gsm acid-free paper ensure the colours are vibrant and my experienced print provider has selected the best high gsm paper to reproduce this on so that the colours are matched closely to the original. Please note that some colours may look different on varying computer screens compared to natural light.
