Dahlias Tutorial (Pre-Recorded)
Dahlias Tutorial (Pre-Recorded)
A range of watercolour techniques are covered in this session whilst learning to paint two types of dahlia. Firstly the loose single petal type of dahlia, a simple but stunning technique that both kids and adults can enjoy. Second the pompom type of dahlia, where you can learn how to create a feeling of depth into the folds of the flower and build in layers. Skills include wet on wet, wet on dry, brush shapes, creating texture and developing an antiperfection mentality. All students will be encouraged to focus on the idea of antiperfection, trying new things and enjoying the process as much as the outcome.
A great mindfulness practice and way of unwinding on your own or with family/friends.
This is a *pre-recorded* virtual session, based on the popular watercolour zoom session which runs live every week with an absolutely lovely gang of attendees. These pre-recorded sessions are approximately 30 minutes long, but you can re-watch them and hopefully they will set you off full of inspiration for as long painting as you need.
Suitable for total beginners or more experienced painters.

My paintings are created in layers of watercolour, gouache and ink. High-quality paints and 300gsm acid-free paper ensure the colours are vibrant and my experienced print provider has selected the best high gsm paper to reproduce this on so that the colours are matched closely to the original. Please note that some colours may look different on varying computer screens compared to natural light.
