When The Yard Gallery announced their Summer in Technicolour theme, I knew I could rise to the challenge! This vibrant pair of gouache paintings is on display as part of the summer exhibition at Leah’s Yard—go see them in person if you can, as the colours are much more delicate and layered than photos can capture. The ultra-matte finish of gouache makes them almost impossible to photograph properly.
Each panel is £495, and they’re designed to sit beautifully side by side—together, they create a striking statement piece. The title is Messy Can Be Colourful—a wild, joyful rock garden full of tiny details. Even in the darkest areas, there are little hits of light on the leaves. If you’ve ever had to work to maintain the mental health of yourself or someone you love, I think you might recognise that feeling.
Each piece is 51x51cm on 2cm-deep wooden panels
How it's made
How it's made
My paintings are created in layers of watercolour, gouache and ink. High-quality paints and 300gsm acid-free paper ensure the colours are vibrant. Please note that some colours may look different on varying computer screens compared to natural light.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
I select high quality paints for my original watercolours based on vibrancy and lightfastness. It is best not to hang any original watercolour in direct sunlight to maintain the colours at their brightest.
Due to being painted in watercolour, these paintings should be kept dry.
