The original artworks in the Cards with Words collection are antiperfection slices of my real working practice. These are illustrations made from important personal words to me, and they were painted and intricately illustrated in flowers and textures especially for the purpose of spreading understanding and joy as far as possible via greetings cards. Because of that the originals are working pieces with corrections in white gouache that have been edited out for digital files, splashes and brush marks.

Hopefully one day I’ll be a famous illustrator and these will be collectors items, for now you have this opportunity to get a one-off and totally unique and imperfect card with words.

Find one that says something meaningful to you and hang somewhere you’ll be reminded of its message every day. 

Some days my hands shake so much I can’t write my own name and others they don’t. On both of those days i have value simply for existing and not because of what I can get done. The same is true of you in your best and less best days. This one was painted on highly textured handmade paper.

All cards with words are unframed, unmounted but ready to be made smart with a simple frame and loved hard. Lots of them are slightly different sizes.
