This is best suited to people who have done a little bit of painting before and are comfortable creating layers of paint. It's still antiperfection, relaxed, jargon-free, light-hearted and playful.
Reflections 2 is the second in a series of tutorials I'll be creating covering light, reflections, and values (light and dark on your page) in a number of different settings.
If you like observation and lights and darks and details then you can really sink into these sorts of challenges but they’re a really different sort of exercise! We’ll talk about values, soft and hard edges, how to select colours for this type of painting, and work on the solo skill of observation over everything else. This skill will improve every painting you create from life or a reference picture.
As this painting is built in layers it's worth being ready to take pauses to let things dry properly as letting things dry between layers is so key!
This is a *pre-recorded* virtual session, based on the popular watercolour zoom session which runs live every week with an absolutely lovely gang of attendees. These pre-recorded sessions are approximately 30 minutes long, but you can re-watch them and hopefully they will set you off full of inspiration for as long painting as you need.
PLEASE NOTE:
This recording is for personal use only. If you wish to use in a corporate or educational setting you will need a corporate license, please contact me directly at:

My paintings are created in layers of watercolour, gouache and ink. High-quality paints and 300gsm acid-free paper ensure the colours are vibrant and my experienced print provider has selected the best high gsm paper to reproduce this on so that the colours are matched closely to the original. Please note that some colours may look different on varying computer screens compared to natural light.
