This detailed painting of a starling uses Indian ink and watercolours to show all the patterns and incredible colour flashes of this British bird.

The eye shines brightly and the crisp details of the feather patterns contrast with the mixed muted shades of burnt umber, violet and turquoise in the watercolour layers.

This A4 print is on smooth 100% recycled stock but has a textured look to the background as the original was painted on textured watercolour paper.

How it's made

My paintings are created in layers of watercolour, gouache and ink. High-quality paints and 300gsm acid-free paper ensure the colours are vibrant and my experienced print provider has selected the best item to reproduce this on so that the colours are matched closely to the original. Please note that some colours may look different on varying computer screens compared to natural light.

Packaging

Cards, prints and notebooks will be sent wrapped in tissue paper inside a hardback envelope.

I will re-use packaging if it is still in good condition and I would ask all my customers to re-use their packaging if possible.

These items will be posted Royal Mail second class within 5 working days.
